Reflect the Light

This morning, as I was journaling, I paused to go outside and watch the sunrise from my balcony. My apartment doesn't face the rising sun. Instead, I enjoyed the sunrise as it reflected off of the tree tops, the landscaping, and the other buildings.  

As I went back to journaling, I thought back to an encounter I had the day before. I had a brief encounter with someone who really went out of their way to help me, a nurse from a doctor’s appointment three weeks prior. I sincerely thanked him for his help and let him know how much it meant to me. He responded “You have no idea how much I appreciate that feedback, it’s been a tough day, and I really needed to hear that.”

In that moment, as I journaled, I realized that it's just as important to reflect the light as it is to be the light.  Reflecting the light is as powerful and as necessary as the light itself. 

Please take a moment, right now, to exercise sincere gratitude to someone that has helped you on your journey. Give credit where credit is due. You might just be the light they need today. 

Reflect the light.
